Ryan Jeffries - Physiotherapist
Ryan graduated from the Masters of Physiotherapy program at UniSA in 2016, after completing his Bachelor of Applied Science (Human Movement) in 2012. After graduating in 2012, Ryan moved to Canberra and undertook a traineeship in the Physiology department at the Australian Institute of Sport, where he worked with athletes from sports as varied as swimming and basketball to winter sports such as skeleton and cross country skiing.
In 2013, Ryan completed his honours degree working with the Basketball Australia High Performance Program, as well as working part time at the ACT Academy of Sport within the high performance department. Throughout his role here he was able to gain hands on experience working with strength and conditioning coaches and physiologists in the rehabilitation of a wide variety of injuries. His time here gave Ryan a deep understanding of the steps that need to be taken to return to sport at the highest level as quickly and safely as possible.
Ryan has stayed involved in sport since moving back to Adelaide by working as sports trainer throughout his study at a few SANFL and Amateur league clubs, and is currently the game day physiotherapist for the South Adelaide Under18’s in the SANFL. Ryan has also undertaken further professional development in the clinical management of running injuries and also sports related hip and groin pain. Additionally, Ryan has also completed his level 1 ASCA Strength and Conditioning certification and an Australian Weightlifting Federation Sports Power Level 1 accreditation.
